Intermediate Apprenticeship In Children And Young People’s Workforce
The course covers the understanding and application of the following:
- Preparing and carrying out activities for children in your care
- Supporting children’s development
- Observing children, writing daily reports for parents and contributing to planning
- Liaising with parents and other members of staff
- Supporting the health and safety of children in your care and safeguarding their welfare
You will be required to understand and follow policies and procedures of the setting at all times. You may be required to work different shift patterns.
Course Content
- Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce (QCF)
- Level 2 Award in Employment Responsibilities and Rights
- Paediatric First Aid
- Functional Skills in English, Maths and Information Technology (Level 1)
- Personal Learning and Thinking Skills
Length of Programme
- 15 months
Personal requirements
- Good organisational and communication skills
- The ability to work as a team member

Advanced Apprenticeship In Children And Young People’s Workforce
The course covers the understanding and application of the following:
- The requirements of a supervisory position i.e. room leader
- Planning activities for children in your care and be familiar with the EYFS
- How to carry out observations on your ‘key children’
- How to carry out risk assessments and have a good understanding of Health & Safety, Safeguarding and Child Protection
- Communicating with Parents and keeping them informed of their child’s progress
You will be required to work as part of a team, therefore good communications skills are paramount.
Course Content
- Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Workforce (EYE)
- Level 2 Award in Employment Responsibilities and Rights
- Functional Skills in Information Technology (Level 2)
- GCSE A* - C Maths and English
Length of Programme
- 24 months
