The Bridge School is an all age special school in Islington, North London, catering for children and young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities (LDD) and/or autism.
In both of our most recent inspections (2006 and 2009), OFSTED rated The Bridge an 'Outstanding' school. Our Headteacher, Dr Penny Barratt has been appointed a National Leader of Education and The Bridge is one of only 35 special schools in the country to be designated a National Support School by the National College.
We have also achieved Specialist School status in Communication and Interaction.

The Bridge School has been running courses in Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (LDD) since 1997 and has a purpose built Training and Consultancy Centre at its primary site in central London. Training@TheBridge is one of the major providers of professional development in the UK for all those working in the fields of Special Educational Needs.

We provide:
- One Day Programmes are fixed at £195 per delegate (£170 for The Schools Network affiliates)
- Two Day Programmes are fixed at £295 per delegate (£270 for The Schools Network affiliates)
- Certificate in SEN - Behaviour Management Module at £750 per delegate
12 sessions (60 hours) over 2 terms
- Post Graduate Certificate in SEN at £1350 (for full PG Certificate)
3 Modules over three semesters (18 months) at £450 per module - enrolment criteria attributed
Voucher Scheme
Substantial savings are available through our new voucher scheme for schools wishing to send multiple colleagues on courses between September 2011 and July 2012.
- Gold = 20 vouchers at £2000 (equivalent of £100.00 per place)
- Silver = 10 vouchers at £1250 (equivalent of £125.00 per place)
- Bronze = 5 vouchers at £750 (equivalent of £150.00 per place)
Terms and Conditions:
- Vouchers can be used on any one day courses by different members of staff from the same school between September 2011 and July 2012.
- The full voucher price must be paid in full at the commencement of the agreement.
- In the event of cancellation of any course which a member school has applied to attend for whatever reason, we will guarantee free attendance at an equivalent course between September 2011 - July 2012.
- Those in the voucher scheme will not be eligible for a refund in the event of not filling the maximum number of places their scheme entitles them to between September 2011 and July 2012 **
**in exceptional circumstances we may agree to unused vouchers being redeemed in the first term of the new academic year.

Bespoke Support
The Bridge also provides bespoke In-Service Training days for any school or college, (within the UK or abroad) including workshop style days, utilising the services of a variety of highly skilled trainers.
All of our courses can also be offered as an INSET opportunity to suit your individual needs. We will happily adapt our existing provision to be delivered to meet the specific demands of your team or create an entirely new outline for CPD in both mainstream and special education:
- Induction & Introduction Teaching Assistants Supervisors
- Playworkers, SENCOs, Classroom Teachers
- Middle Leaders, Senior Leaders
We offer half-day, one day or two day INSETs at your school or in partnership with schools in your area. Workshop days are especially stimulating, with trainers delivering a variety of one or two hour rotating workshops on key areas of your choice.

Conference Centre and Facilities Hire
Our purpose built Training and Conference Centre houses a prestigious suite of rooms available for hire as a whole or individually, suitable for every event, seminar, recruitment/interview day or meeting.
Forget the hassle of off-site engagements, our central location with quick, easy access to all modes of public transport combined with value for money and a 'service' response aim to do the hard work for you.
We are experienced, professional but relaxed hosts with a range of regular clientele including Specialist Schools & Academies Trust, Department for Education and the National Health Service.
Our flexibility of space and hire periods has encouraged a number of local and national groups to establish The Bridge as a base for a range of AGM and regular Board Meetings. Whatever you're planning, email or call us and we will create a package just for you!
Facilities:
- Conference Room 50 in Seminar Style / 30 in Cabaret Style
- Training Room 35 in Seminar Style / 20 in Cabaret Style
- Meeting Room 20 in Seminar Style / 12 in Board Room Style
Both the Conference and Training Rooms are equipped with fixed projectors and laptops at no extra cost and of course we supply all flip charts and reasonable stationery including photocopying. We also provide a range of refreshments and buffet lunches to meet both your needs and your budget!
Rates are based on a sliding 'Business' and 'Not for Profit' scale from £235 to £100 dependent upon your requirements and we can also offer competitive hourly and half day rates.
